THE FILM-
This is a very glossy and entertaining masala movie with great locales and
some good action. It is a film about a man Arjun (Akshay Kumar) who is out to
search and finish those people who had destroyed his family and his childhood. Amidst
his mission, he comes across Tina, the very gorgeous and vivacious daughter of
a rich NRI who is supposedly involved in criminal activities of the underworld
and who was one of the people who was responsible for Arjun’s mission. Tina is
unaware of her father’s black businesses and falls head-over-heels in love with
Arjun. Arjun uses Tina to know more about her father as part of his mission,
till at last he enters into the world of crime and glamour. Though the
scripting and editing is quite weak in the movie, there is a lot of
entertainment for the movie buffs. Great locales, good action scenes, good
costumes and great looking stars Kareena and Akshay, some good song and dance
sequences. On the whole, it is not for serious watching but just a light, entertaining
movie. Akshay and Kareena do really well in what is given to them. Kareena
looks really gorgeous and acts very well. There is also a part of the movie
shot on the magnificent train, Palace on Wheels, which is really a fresh idea
and nice to watch. The movie has nothing much to offer in terms of script
though it has much to offer in entertainment. The music in the film is quite
mediocre and one or two tracks in the movie are just about hummable. But the beautiful
picturisation of these songs in the movie gives these songs some life. This
movie was an average at the box-office.
